CAROLYNNE'S PERSONAL STORY: As with many families, the Palla's moved from the fast-paced life in the City to their first home in Steveston in 2003. At that time their baby was 6 months old. They had been living in a 4000 square foot penthouse in the West End, enjoying the night life, parties with friends, and working long hours in the Property Management Industry. It was through management of the townhouse complex at the corner of Railway & Steveston Hwy that they were introduced to Steveston and the wonderful people that lived there. So Steveston was their first choice to live. They of course used Sean Lawson of RE/MAX as their realtor and happily settled into their new house.
Not knowing anyone in Richmond, Carolynne quickly relied on information from neighbours and people she met to find out what Steveston offered for kids. Regularly Googling the internet looking for information and relying on "Steveston Community Website" for information. She quickly learned that at 2 1/2 year old her son could start preschool at The Arts Connection and gymnastics at Cartwheels. At 3 1/2 she could enroll him in dance classes, skating classes, music classes, bike lessons, golf lessons, summer camps, etc. Wow - Carolynne was thrilled to know about all these great activities in her neighbourhood. Next she was anxious to learn where to buy things, where to have a birthday party and what sports were available. Hence - the birth of Stevestonkids.com in September 2007!
Carolynne and her husband Karel left the Property Management industry after 12 years and are now both licensed Real Estate Agents. Karel has a large volume of clients in downtown Vancouver and is now able to assist his clients in Steveston as well. Carolynne assists Karel Palla with his thriving Real Estate business while raising their 4 year old son as he pursues his dreams.
Carolynne's passion is promoting Steveston. You will find her volunteering on committees such as the Spectacle of Lights, Halloween in the Village, Easter Egg Hunt, Salmon Festival and more. Carolynne loyally supports and shops Steveston in addition to spreading the word to everyone she meets. Her extensive background in management, uncanny ability to organize everything perfectly, obsession with graphics, photography and video, and her continuing education to stay on the cutting edge of technology will continue to bring a fresh and exciting view of Steveston Kids. Check back often as Steveston Kids is growing quickly!
