PUMPKIN DISPOSAL

October 31st, 2008
City of Richmond will remove old pumpkins left at the curb as part of the Yard Trimmings Collection Program.  The pumpkins must be securely fastened in a clear bag of manageable weight, or mixed in with the fall leaves.  Put the bag out on your designated garbage day.

PARADE OF LIGHTS

October 31st, 2008
Richmond Yacht Club is having their annual Parade of Lights on December 13 & 14, 2008 from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm.  Decorated boats will be on parade between the Middle Arm Bridge and Dinsmore Bridge.

Best viewing is from the Richmond Yacht Club.  Everyone is welcome, come out and enjoy:  hot chocolate, cookies, hotdogs, traditional holiday music and visit from Santa and Mrs Claus.

Admission:  donation of food and/or unwrapped children's gifts.  No stuffed toys please.  All donations are greatly apprreciated for the Salvation Army and Richmond Christmas Fund.

Prizes will be awarded for the best

OLYMPIC OVAL OPENING

Friday, December 12, 2008.  The Grand Opening of the Olympic Speed-Skating Oval will start at 5 pm and will feature the Aeroisa Dance Group, Quebec ice-performance troupe Le Patin Libre, the 15th Field Artillery regimental band, the Steveston Taiko Drummers, Richmond honour choir, and dancers from Hugh Boyd and McNeil secondary schools.

Saturday, December 13, 2008 will be Open House from 12:00 - 7:00 pm including more entertainment, public skating and building tours.
